Academy Award–winning filmmaker Morgan Neville’s latest documentary is an unprecedented, behind-the-scenes portrait of Lorne Michaels, who built one of television’s most influential comedy institutions, Saturday Night Live. Morgan returns to the Paley stage to talk to curator Ron Simon about how he captured on film one of TV’s most elusive visionaries, by talking to SNL alumni and acquiring rare archival footage. He will preview clips from his highly anticipated new documentary and discuss how Michaels shaped modern comedy. Morgan will also compare the process of producing Lorne to his other acclaimed portraits of Paul McCartney, Fred Rogers, Anthony Bourdain, and Steve Martin.
