Amazing Stories: Steven Spielberg’s TV Legacy

Thursday, June 11, 2026
4:00 pm
The Paley Museum, 25 West 52 Street, NYC
Curator: Jason Lynch

As Steven Spielberg’s latest film Disclosure Day arrives in theaters on June 12—and he prepares to turn 80 in December—join curator Jason Lynch as he looks back on Spielberg’s early years on TV, where he got his professional start directing 1970s TV shows like Night Gallery and Columbo, as well as TV movies like Duel, which put him on the map and launched his film career. The discussion will also look at his later TV work in creating Amazing Stories following his blockbuster movie success, and executive producing memorable shows like Animaniacs, Band of Brothers, and The Pacific.
