From “I’m not superstitious, but I am a little stitious” to “Bears, beets, Battlestar Galactica,” The Office has endured as one of the 21st century’s most popular and beloved sitcoms, becoming the rare series to make a splash on both broadcast and streaming platforms. As the groundbreaking show—set at the Scranton, Pa. branch of the Dunder Mufflin paper company—turns twenty, The Paley Museum in collaboration with Universal Television celebrates the show’s legacy with an immersive exhibit featuring rare costumes and original props from the iconic series, including Michael Scott’s office suit, Meredith Palmer’s “Casual Friday” dress, Dwight Schrute’s wedding suit, and Pam Beesley’s copy of the “Threat Level: Midnight” screenplay. Fans will also have the opportunity to take photos at Michael’s desk. The exhibit also offers a special behind-the-scenes look at The Paper, the new series set in the same universe as The Office, which premiered September 4 on Peacock. This time, the documentary crew that immortalized Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch turns its cameras on a historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher determined to revive it.
